This ribbon connects your laser lens to XBox 360 DVD Drive I/O board. If you lose or tear this ribbon during a repair your XBox 360 DVD drive will no longer function properly. This can result in "disc read errors" and "mixed media errors" and "open tray errors". If you see any noticeable damage to the ribbon that connects your laser lens to your i/o board, be sure to replace it immediately.
